Organisational Change,

3 Takeaways for Organisational Change

Just because people nod…

…it doesn’t mean they understand, need, or support organisational change.

Here are my three key takeaways from working across business model transformation, technology shifts, and organisational change:

#1 Communication doesn’t mean buy-in

Just because you have given countless roadmap presentations, hosted interactive sessions, and sent regular update bulletins doesn’t mean people are truly on board.

->The best pulse check you can do is go where the people are – listen, observe, and truly understand their concerns. That’s where the real insight lies.

#2 The best ideas means nothing without champions

You can have the most innovative technology, method, or idea – but without internal and external champions who can convey its value, implementation will be hard and lengthy.

-> Change is a fine balance between ideas driven from the inside out and those from the outside in. Both can succeed – or fail – depending on how well they are championed.

#3 With commitment, change accelerates

What usually takes a year can happen in three months when people are clear on the joint direction, timeline & requirements.

-> Keep an open mind. Don’t get stuck in linear timelines or past experiences. When commitment to a result is strong, humans deliver the impossible.

At the heart of all three takeaways lies the human factor.

Compared to technology and process, the human side of change is often the most complex and influential – hence the more people, the more complexity?

One thing is for sure: when everyone is truly on board, the human side of change becomes the most inspiring and rewarding part – and it’s nothing short of magical!
